2022 Reading Wrap Up

In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.

Mortimer J. Adler

This year, I set a goal to read 160 books and expand my reading to authors from more countries. I ended up reading 202 books and added one country to my books by an author from every country challenge. There were so many good books I was lucky enough to read this year that I really felt like I had my best ever year of reading.

It was so much fun to discover new authors, new books, read more books by authors I love, and share recommendations with friends. It still blows my mind that I read 202 books in one year when I struggled for so long to read 100. This post is very much a love story to my reading this year and I hope you discover a few books you want to read yourself!

My rating system is very much how the books made me feel. 5 star reads are books that stood out in more ways than one and really didn’t want to end. They made me feel something on every page and truly expanded my perspective or made me laugh like crazy or just moved me so much. 4.5 star reads are books that came so close to that incredible feeling, but just fell a tiny bit short of being “perfect”. 4 star reads and 3.5 star reads are ones I absolutely enjoyed with would always recommend to anyone. 3 star reads are books I liked, but didn’t love. Some were good, some were just okay.
